Don Blake
Education: BA in Biology, postgraduate work in Livestock Production
Industry Experience: Don has 28 years of experience in the animal health industry. At Solvay Animal Health, he worked in Poultry and Swine Sales and Marketing. There, he served as a Swine Integrator Team Leader, where he developed strategies and implemented a plan to address business with emerging swine integrator business.
He later worked for Norbrook Laboratories as their Global Business Development Manager. In that position, he managed toll manufacturing agreements with multinational companies, developed distribution in key global markets, product registrations and acquisitions. Don also worked as General Manager for AgMark, Inc., where he managed two branches of the large regional animal distributor.
He was Chairman and Owner of Sky Biotek, Ltd., a UK-based global trading company dealing primarily in industrial coatings, industrial enzymes and animal health products. Don has also worked for Novartis Animal Health as a Key Account Manager, where he developed business with key swine integrators both domestically and internationally.
Role at Newport: Don is responsible for developing business with key swine integrator accounts.
He also serves as Newport's Business Development Director. In this position, Don is responsible for developing and nurturing relationships with new international affiliates and partners in the Swine, Cattle, and R&D Units. He works to gain acquisition of products/services, and gathers input for R&D on new products.
