Randy Shirbroun, DVM

Education: Dr. Shirbroun graduated from Iowa State University's College of Veterinary Medicine. He also completed course work at ISU’s College of Education leading to Certification in Secondary Education.

Industry Experience: After receiving his D.V.M, Dr. Shirbroun practiced in a food animal practice in Coon Rapids, Iowa for ten years. He also is certified in Secondary Education, and directed the Veterinary Technology Program at the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture in Curtis, Nebraska, for several years. Dr. Shirbroun has been in the animal health industry since 1996 as a Technical Service Veterinarian with Oxford Laboratories, Pharmacia, and Bayer Animal Health. He also served as Director of the Bayer Veterinary Diagnostic Center. Randy served as a Senior Technical Services Veterinarian for Biovet after their acquisition of the unit from Bayer. He also has experience in distribution, having worked as the Director of Sales and Technical Support for Nelson Laboratories. In this role, he was responsible for coordinating both the inside and outside distributor sales force, providing technical support, and directing the marketing efforts. Randy has been active in the Iowa Veterinary Medical Association, having chaired both the Swine Practitioners Committee and the Veterinary Technology Committee, as well as serving on the Practice Management Committee, and the Scientific Program Planning Committee. He is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the American Association of Bovine Practitioners, American Association of Swine Veterinarians, and the Academy of Veterinary Consultants. 

Role at Newport: Dr. Shirbroun joined Newport Laboratories in July 2003. Has has served as a Field Account Manager until he became a FACS team member, specializing in bovine health.
