Russ Bey, Ph.D.
Education: Dr. Bey earned his B.A. and Ph.D. in Veterinary Microbiology from the University of Minnesota. He also completed post-doctoral studies at the University.
Industry Experience: Dr. Bey serves as a professor and section head of the Laboratory for Udder Health at the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine. He has been a professor at the U of MN for over 30 years. His research focuses on factors affecting animal health and the development of new diagnostic tests and disease prevention products. He was instrumental in starting the Laboratory for Udder Health, has conducted many research studies on udder health, colostrum and bedding management as well as on farm milk culturing for guiding treatment decisions. Dr. Bey’s work has been featured in numerous publications.
Role at Newport: Dr. Bey currently oversees Newport Laboratories’ commercial vaccine development as well as Newport’s technology advancements and innovations in custom vaccine development.
